Inventory Control with Bar Coding

MaintStar follows each part from the time it is purchased to the actual work order when it is installed.  MaintStar directly links inventory, work orders and purchase orders together and automatically reserves parts assigned to future work orders when reporting usable inventory. We guard against “stock outages” by automatically checking the availability of each part every time a work order is issued. Alerts are generated when preset minimum levels are reached and purchase requisitions can be created. System features assist with your inventory counts through ABC cycle capabilities and the capacity to generate custom random samples.

The Inventory Bar Coding module is available and can be used with a variety of bar code hardware. The System also allows you to bar code your assets & equipment, your maintenance workers and your work orders for easy data entry and retrieval.

Purchase Orders

Automatically generating purchase orders for inventory items below minimum quantity is a natural extension to any effective inventory program. The MaintStar System will generate purchase orders for all parts & materials, as well as monitor all outstanding orders and backorders.

Budgets

MaintStar constantly tracks all labor and material costs. It works in conjunction with work orders and purchase orders. It allows you to set up budgets for a department or on a project basis. It compares actual costs to budget and provides a realistic foundation for future planning decisions. Monthly and YTD calculations are available in real time, all the time.

Invoice

The MaintStar System has extensive invoicing capabilities. Generate invoices for charging internal departments or for billing outside customers. Automatically apply a user defined percentage markup to any parts or labor entry. The module can be interfaced with your accounting system for easy recording keeping.

Time Card

Designed to keep track of individual employee time on a daily basis, it is linked to the work order module and accumulates the man-hours entered on work orders. Viewing labor time in time card fashion allows for an easy adjustment and approval process. It provides data exporting capabilities, so that the approved data can be sent to to the payroll system.

Auto-Labor Scheduling

This scheduling module is a great time-saving management tool. The sophisticated software is designed to balance the available labor resources against the estimated workload. It takes into consideration available man-hours for each craftsman and automatically assigns specific personnel to work orders based upon job priority, job skills, trade, locations and other variable conditions. The selected conditions are user-definable, allowing you to balance resources for every day work, special projects or emergency situations.

Asset Management

The Asset Management module efficiently organizes information about your assets for quick and clear analysis and decision-making. The system tracks depreciation and a project’s future replacement costs based upon user definable rates of inflationary costs for each asset involved. These projections aid management in making better, more informed replacement and budgeting decisions with historical data of actual total repair and maintenance costs.

Work Planning for Municipalities

MaintStar has a unique Work Planning and Budgeting system that is specifically designed for municipalities to track a variety of daily activities.  The cost accounting based financial tool is designed for mid and upper level management and provides highly refined details for budgeting purposes. Microsoft Project Integration

MaintStar is capable of linking with Microsoft project to track a variety of projects and activities, such as shutdowns, construction activities, and downtime scheduling. Selected work order information can be moved with a single click from MaintStar to MS Project for fine tuning of schedules. Select all work orders or specify a group that pertains to a specific project, equipment, location, type of work order or other category. The bi-directional interface will send the integrated information back to MaintStar, so that all work order will be assigned in our Master Schedule according to the MS Project timeline dates.
